Our Homecoming Theme:
Reflections and Reconnections
When Barry University was founded 80 years ago, no one could predict the world changing events that would transpire just one year later. On December 7, 1941, our country abruptly entered a climate of fear and uncertainty as a result of the bombing attack at Pearl Harbor.
The resilience of Barry University through those early years set the foundation for where we are today. Our 80th Anniversary arrives in a year that has presented challenges and opportunities that require all of us to reflect upon the concepts of “individual and communal transformation”; two important components of our University mission.
Rather than defer our opportunity to celebrate our 80 years with our alumni family, we felt that Homecoming was in fact, the best time to encourage Reflections and Reconnections within our Barry community. While most of our events and activities will be presented virtually, now more than ever we needed to provide a Homecoming experience that reminds us that through Faith, Family and Fellowship we can close the distance between us, and reconnect with the memories and sense of community that are uniquely Barry!
We welcome you all to the Barry University Homecoming 2020 Celebrating 80 Years:
Reflections and Reconnections.
